STEM at Ardross Primary School is all about sustainability, creativity and design, and finding solutions for the modern world and future. We integrate the school kitchen garden and chickens into the curriculum areas of Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics with a STEM specialist teacher. Students learn to research, collaborate, design, produce, reflect, communicate and improve their work using both digital and design principles. The inquiry process to learning in the STEM area, is integrated into learning across the curriculum and into classrooms, facilitating a learning program that encourages students to be inquisitive, critical and creative thinkers.
A highlight of our STEM calendar is the It takes a Spark Conference, Solar Car Challenges, Billy Cart designing and creating, Robotics, Paper Boat Challenges, and Science Week.
