All absences must be explained to the school. If a student will be absent for an entire day, a parent or guardian must enter an Attendance Note in Compass. For students who arrive late to school or are absent for only part of the day, parents or guardians must sign them in or out of the school via the Compass Kiosk in the office.
Students who arrive after 8.55am must sign in at the front office to obtain a late slip.
If a student is absent without explanation, an SMS will be sent at 9.45am alerting the parent/guardian with a link to Compass where you can explain your child’s absence.
Alternatively, absences can be notified by:-
- calling the School Office on 9263 1350 between 8.00am – 9.15am on the day of the absence
- emailing ardross.ps@education.wa.edu.au
If students are taken out of school during the term for a vacation of 5 days or more, an email must be sent to our Principal at ardross.ps@education.wa.edu.au prior to the vacation being taken.
Please note that our teachers are not required to prepare work for students who are absent from school. If a child is sick, their focus should be getting better so they can return to school. Work will not be provided for planned holidays during school term.
Parents and visitors who are attending the school grounds outside the normal drop off/pick up times, are required to sign in (and out) of the school via the front office and obtain a visitor pass. This allows us to manage onsite attendance in case of emergencies and ensures the safety of our students.
