In 2015, the Ardross Primary School library underwent a major refurbishment resulting in a welcoming, vibrant and multifunctional facility within the school.

Our well-resourced library is open for borrowing Wednesday – Friday each week. Students from years 1-6 can borrow 2 books per week and our Kindy and PP students can borrow 1 book per week.

The library follows a ‘no bag, no borrowing’ policy to maintain the long life of our books. Please ensure your child’s name is printed clearly on his/her library bag for the safe storage of their library books. Students may provide their own library bag or alternatively the school has library bags available to purchase via the uniform shop.

As well as the borrowing of books each week, the library has 6 computers used by students for IT purposes, is used for PD days, Guest Speakers, parent morning & afternoon teas and various other group sessions.

Visual displays commemorating landmark international, national and local social and historic events, as well as religious celebrations and class topics are created and changed on a regular basis to add interest and colour to the library.

Class work is displayed in the library so that the rest of the school can enjoy seeing the efforts of other students in the school.

Before school reading is also offered to all students every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 8.30am – 8.55am.

As part of the schools commitment to promote reading, we hold an annual Book Fair in the library during September. This highly successful event supports the schools ability to extend its reading resources for your children.

Volunteers are always welcome in the library, so please come and see our friendly staff if you are able to assist.
