River Rangers

In August 50 year six River Rangers went on camp to Hillaries to learn about sustainability and coastline environments. We had a fantastic time doing activities at the Marine Discovery Centre, including classifying marine species and fish dissection. We experienced walking in a heavy downpour, played exhilarating team games and created a mini-musical about protecting river birds. We made kites with environmental messages and planted seedlings to reduce dune erosion with Coast Care. We also visited the Advanced Water Recycling Plant to find out how the aquifer is being recharged to boost future water supplies. Overall it was great fun and very educational.
